CARPENTIER ARRIVES TO BATTLE CHAMPS
September 13, 1920
"Georges Carpentier, the French boxer, arrived here today on the steamer Lorraine. He intends to meet "Battling" Levinsky and Jack Dempsey."
"I hope it is a tough match, I would so prefer it."
" I am confident I can defeat him and I want to show the people I am a fighter. After I fight Levinsky then I will negotiate with Dempsey or his manager."
"There was a big crowd and two brass bands at the dock to meet the fighter"
