COPS MAY FIGHT IT OUT FOR RING HONORS OF STATE
Unless some "Judge Landis of law enforcement" steps in and rules that "prize fighing and being a policeman don't mix" or something like that, there is a possibility that Wisconsin fight fans may be treated to the spectacle of two heavyweight police patrolmen battling it out in the ring fo the "copper's championship of the state".
Glen Clickner, Racine, a patrolman here since he retired as a professional boxer four years ago, today appeared more than willing to accept the challenge of Frank Check, Stevens Point patrolman, for such a bout.
Clickner is 35 years old and weights 190 pounds. He was heavy-weigbt champion of the 32nd division at Camp McArthur,Tex., in 1917. He engaged in 84 professional bouts and won 69 of them. He held Martin Burke, Jack Dempsey's sparring partner in 1922, to a draw, beat Kayo Sullivan and lost a 10-round decision to Jimmy Delaney. He was knocked out by Young Stribling , his last fight.
