Bert Colima was at the end of his career by time of this photograph. He was handling a few amateurs who showed promise and from the lot only one kid caught his eye. His name was Manuel Martinez

and later he fought under the name of Young Bert Colima.

He was to win the California welterweight championship from Abie Miller.
