Veteran boxing writer Frankie Mastro drives a left hook to the body of John Lane at the September 10, 1962 meeting of the Illinois Boxing Commission. Cus D'Amoto

requested the hearing to demonstrate that a person under hypnosis could not feel a punch. D'Amoto had Green hypnotised by Marshall Brodien.

D'Amoto, manager of Heavyweight Champiom Floyd Patterson, charged that Sonny Liston had arranged to be hypnotised prior to the upcoming title fight so he

Liston would not feel Patterson's punches.

As it turned out Sonny Liston took care of putting Floyd Patterson "under" at 2:06 of the first round via a knockout.
