From 1935 until 1974 on the site the old car barn across from Madison Square Garden Jack Dempsey's Broadway Restaurant was truly an American institution. Most nights for those nearly forty years would find the proprietor Dempsey on hand to greets guests, sign autographs, pose for pictures and hold court with the famous from all walks of life.
