"They needed a math major for a referee, he had to count so much"

Joe Frazier

vs.

Terry Daniels

January, 1972

In the first heavyweight championship bout in New Orleans in eighty years, since Corbett defeated Sullivan Joe Frazier walked through Terry Daniels.

Coming off his brusing victory over Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier was taking a bit of breather. The breather came in the form a of a 25year old well-to-do pre-law student turned professional prize fighter, Terry Daniels.

Daniels with a respectable 29-4-1 record was no match for heavy artillery of Joe Frazier. Going down four times in four rounds before Referee Herman Dutreix stepped in and stopped the bout.
