A sullen faced Sonny Liston at his South Fallsburg, New York, training camp.

Liston with a contract to fight Floyd Patterson for the heavyweight championship, was still without a venue. The State of New York had refused to grant Liston a license and on this day word was that the State of Michigan would grant Liston permission to fight. Ultimately, the fight was made for Chicago.
