Attending a patriotic rally that drew a crowd estimated a 1,250,000 people.

Lieutenant Bulkeley, a Queens, New York native, as a P.T. boat Captain was one of the early heroes of the War and later had the destinction of piloting the boat on which General Douglas McArthur was removed from Bataan to Austtalia. After a distinguished career Lietenant Bulkeley was appointed a Rear Admiral by then President Kennedy.
