The courageous Argentine Godoy bloodied and battered fought on until Referee Cavanaugh stopped the fight following three knockdowns at one minute 24 seconds of round eight. Godoy protested vociferously.

There was no quit in the man from the land of Firpo and Justo Suarez. He as they fought always with great bravery.
