Phil Scott training for his up-coming fight with Jack Sharkey, the winner to meet Max Schmeling for the vacated heavyweight championship of the world. Ironically, Phil Scott was to lose his fight with Jack Sharkey after Sharkey had hit Scott with a series of low blows. However, in the ensuring chaos Referee Magnolia refused to disqualify Sharkey. When Jack Sharkey met Max Schmeling for the title he was to lose to Sharkey as the result of a foul, a low blow.
