Jack Sharkey
Throughout the Roaring Twenties and past the midway point of the Thirties Jack Sharkey figured prominently in the mix of the heavyweight division.
Aside from being heavyweight champion in his own right, Jack Sharkey had the distinction providing the linear connection between two distinct eras of heavyweight boxing. Sharkey was the only man to fight both Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis.
