The Brown City, Michigan native, Gorsline, was overwhelmed by the superior skills of Stribling and became W.L.'s second knockout victim in three weeks. It all ended for Whitey Gorsline, before 5,000 screaming fans, in the third round. For W.L. Stribling it was on to Chicago to fight Tuffy Griffiths.
