As journeyman heavyweight ,James Buster Douglas ,gradually built a points lead, all the while battering a disoriented Mike Tyson, suddenly it seemed business as usual. Tyson backing Douglas toward the ropes dropped the challenger with a textbook Tyson uppercut.

But, this not to be the normal ending, up at the count of eigth, this was merely,

By round ten, Tyson's left eye badly swollen was serving as target practice for Douglas' rapier like jab. Then, what had now become inevitable Douglas'\ cork-screwed Tyson's head with an uppercut of his own and after a five punch combination, the impossible inevitable had happened...

Tyson went down.

Unable to beat the count of ten at 1 minute 23 seconds of the tenth round the truly impossible had happened.

42-1 underdog, James Buster Douglas, had knocked out "The Baddest Man on the Planet" and was the heavyweight champion of the world.
