The Jack Johnson v. Jess Willard fight was originally scheduled to take place in Mexico early in 1915 and as a result Willard's training camp was set up in Texas. The fight was later postponed due to political unrest in Mexico and re-scheduled and moved to Cuba.

Tom Jones, Willard's manager, is viewed standing outside the ropes to the viewer's right.
