Originally, the Johnson v. Willard fight was scheduled to be held in Juarez, Mexico and as a result Jess Willard set up his training camp at the Knoblauch Ranch at El Paso, Texas.

The political unrest in Mexico led to the fight being rescheduled for April 1915 in Havana, Cuba.
