Ike Williams is pictured with (left to right)Leon Rains, Chairman of the Pennslyvania State Athletic Commission, Judge Harry S. McDeVitt, President of Middle Atlantic Association of the A.A.U. and his manager and co-contributor, Frank Palermo.

Ike is donating a check for $1,000 from the $30,000 in proceeds he recieved from his bout with Beau Jack.

Years later, Ike Williams would tesify, before the Kefauver committee ,that he had been forced to accept Palermo as his manager due to a "black listing" by the Manager's Guild. He also, claimed that Palmero withheld over $65,000 from his purses and relayed numerous bribe offers.

In Janurary, 1948, before a bout with Freddy Dawson, Williams was told that , "the officals were rooting for Dawson'. Ike went to the press and told them he would have a story for them after the fight. Williams went on to defeat Dawson, however he was fined $500 for "casting doubt on the officals' integrity". The man leveling the fine, Leon Rains. A friend and traveling companion of Frank Palermo and State Athletic Commissioner.1
